Martino Panizza
Martino is a young harpist who recently graduated from the Royal College of Music. He has studied with Ieuan Jones, Fiorella Bonetti and Judith Liber.
His dedication to new music and improvisation has seen him playing with many different ensembles including the London Sinfonietta Academy Ensemble, and performing in venues such as the Roundhouse, St Martin in the Fields and CafeOto.
Martino has performed as a soloist in the UK, Italy, Israel and France and has also been a guest of the International Festival Journées de la Harpe. With orchestra he has played G. F. Haendel Concerto and C. Debussy Danses Sacrée et Profane in the prestigious Teatro Bibiena in Mantova.
He has been principal harpist under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski, Bernard Haitink and Riccardo Muti.
Together with cellist Alice Purton he founded the Shoals Duo, a contemporary music and free improvisation ensemble which has collaborated with new music series such as NonClassical.
He featured on Jonny Greenwood’s soundtrack to the award-winning film, The Master.
