On Saturday 12th of May, the Shoals Duo recorded Hush by Charlie Sdraulig at City University Performance Space.
To describe Hush I would say that it is as a revolutionary reinterpretation of Cage’s conception of silence and sound, conducted with a keen interest in the instrumental technique and the personal aspiration of performers to explore instinctively their instrument, and a notation system that eliminates traditional dynamics indication, using the physical approach of the player to the instrument as main source of sound production indication.
